“How much does a bike service cost?” has no single answer, and any page that gives you one number is guessing. What it does have is a small set of variables that decide the figure. Once you know those, you can look at a quote and tell whether it is reasonable.

The four things that actually move the price

1. Engine size

This is the biggest single factor. A 110cc commuter and a 650cc twin need different oil quantities, different consumables, and different amounts of labour time. Larger machines also add checks that small ones do not have — twin-cylinder synchronization, for example. Service pricing is tiered by engine capacity almost everywhere for this reason.

2. Service type

A general service, a periodic service and a major service are different jobs. A general service is largely inspection plus oil and filter. A major service, typically due at much longer intervals, opens up more of the machine and costs correspondingly more.

3. Parts and consumables are usually extra

This is where quotes diverge most. A service fee typically covers labour and the inspection checklist. Engine oil, filters, spark plugs, brake pads and cables are parts, and parts are usually billed on top. Two quotes that look far apart are often the same labour charge with different assumptions about what needs replacing.

When comparing prices, ask specifically: does this figure include oil, and which oil? Synthetic versus mineral alone can change the total noticeably.

4. Where the work happens

Authorised brand workshops, independent garages and doorstep services price differently and offer different things. Authorised centres use brand-specified parts and keep your service record inside the brand network, which matters while the bike is under warranty. Independent workshops are generally cheaper. Doorstep service trades the workshop lift for not losing half a day.

This choice is not purely about money while your bike is in warranty — see below.

What we charge

Our doorstep two-wheeler service starts from ₹999, with the exact figure depending on your bike’s engine capacity and the package you choose. Electric scooters are priced separately, as the work involved is genuinely different. Larger and performance machines sit higher up the range, and the very largest are quoted individually rather than listed.

Rather than repeat numbers here that may change, the live figure for your specific bike is on the services page — select your model and the package price shown is what applies. For reference, general service packages run from up to 110 cc to up to 300 cc, with separate Royal Enfield and premium motorcycle packages.

The warranty question comes first

Before optimising for price, check your warranty terms. For several major Indian two-wheeler brands, the published conditions make servicing at an authorised workshop a requirement of the warranty. If your bike is still covered, that constraint outranks a few hundred rupees of saving.

We wrote a full breakdown of what the brands actually say, with the five-minute check on your own booklet: does doorstep bike service void your warranty?

Three ways to avoid overpaying

  1. Get an itemised quote, not a total. Labour, each part, and taxes listed separately. A single number is impossible to check.
  2. Ask for the replaced parts back. The old filter, plug or pads should be there for you to see. It costs the workshop nothing and it is the simplest honesty test available to you.
  3. Approve extras before they happen. Agree that anything beyond the quoted scope gets a phone call first. Most disputes are not about dishonesty, they are about assumed consent.

What is not in any of our packages

We do not do puncture repair, tyre replacement, tube replacement or wheel alignment. Tyres are inspected during a service, but tyre work itself goes to a specialist outlet. Worth knowing before you compare our price against a quote that includes tyre work.

What you are actually paying for

If you want to see the full list of what a service covers — and how much of it is inspection rather than replacement — we broke that down item by item in the general service checklist.
